Tutoring

Let's face it: If math were easy, you wouldn't even need to think about finding a tutor. While I can't promise to make math into the easiest thing you've ever done, I can help you find your way through the maze.

I have over ten years of experience tutoring a variety of high-school and college level mathematics courses. I have worked with students who have a variety of abilities and interest levels in mathematics. A typical tutoring session is one hour, once a week, in person. Some students will want more time to prepare for a test or exam. I will, within reason, meet with a student at the frequency the student desires. My only requirement is that the student be willing to put in the effort to understand the material that we cover.

Frequently asked questions

What are your qualifications?

I have a Master's degree in mathematics from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I have tutored a number of students at varying levels of ability in high-school and college-level mathematics for over a decade.

What experience do you have?

I have tutored high-school Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Trigonometry, Algebra III, and AP Calculus. I have also tutored college-level Algebra, Elementary Functions, Elementary Statistics, Business Calculus, Calculus I and Calculus II. If you don't see the name of your math class listed here, ask me about it. Chances are that I'm familiar with the area of mathematics you're studying.

Will my grades improve if you tutor me?

I can make no such guarantee. What I can guarantee is that I will provide you with the tools for you to understand the material that we cover. If you apply the techniques and methods we discuss, then you should expect to see an improvement in the grades you receive in your course.

How much do you charge?

I charge $30 per hour.

Where do you tutor your students?

I tutor students at my home in the Chamblee-Doraville area of Atlanta, Georgia. Contact me via email to arrange an appointment and to get directions.

How do I get in touch with you?

The easiest way is to use the contact form. That form will send me an email message when you fill it out and submit it. Be sure to include your own contact information when you fill out the form. When I reply, I'll provide you with my contact information if you don't already have it.

Do you tutor over the phone or via email?

I have found that a phone or email conversation does not allow my students to learn all that they need to in order to master mathematics.
